3ds Max - Texturing (Clay 2)

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake 3ds Max Clay Texture Rendering 2I've been working on the back of the car for the last few days. It needs a bit more tweaking before I can start to add detail to the top of the Mustang.

I'll probably post an update about the back of the car in one of the following days.

In the meantime, I've made a second render with the clay texture, this time with more of the car exposed.

Update Shelby Super Snake 4 - Side Intake

A bit more tweaking and I can start working on the back of the car with the top still to do.

3ds Max - Texturing (Racing Stripes)

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake 3ds Max Racing Stripes TexturingI just experimented a bit with the unwrap UVW modifier and I managed to add racing stripes to the front bumper of my car.

Pretty simple :)

This was just a bit of testing, I'll use this later to texture the whole car.
A short tutorial will follow, probably once this project is done (whenever that will be).

Update Shelby Super Snake 3 - Door Handle

It took about 3 hours to model, thougher than I expected.

Next up:
  • Side intake (just behind door)
  • Weel arches rear
  • Complete trunk ...
In the mean time, I'll also try to figure out how to texture racing stripes across the body of the Super Snake. I haven't found a specific tutorial about this subject but I think the UVW unwrap will be usefull. I case this works, I'll probably try to make a tutorial about it.

3ds Max - Texturing (Clay)

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake 3ds Max Clay Texture RenderingNow my model of the Super Snake is starting to look as a mustang I am starting wondering how to texture the car. Since I am pretty new to 3ds Max and this is my first actual model I needed some tutorials.

One of those tutorials handled the subject of showing your progress by a clay model.

Update Shelby Super Snake 2

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake 3ds Max Update 2It's been about a year since I last updated, but here's update 2 at last.

After I completed the front of the car, I started to work my way to the back. I seperated the doors, created some side skirts and added some detail (including door handle).

Here's also a render from de side of the car. As you can see is the front of the car pretty much done, it's starting to look like a mustang :)

Next up: door handles + working further to the back

Update Shelby Super Snake

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake 3ds Max Update 1Here's the first picture of my Super Snake project. I've been working on it for about a week and I've got the general shape of the car.

I am currently working on the front of the car. The hood is almost completed, the final tweaking will happen at the end of this project.
Now I am gonna finish the front bumper and than start working my way to the back of the car.

The next update will follow in a couple of days.
